About

Originally from Texas, my very un-Texan indifference for football allowed me to attend rival universities. I received my undergraduate BFA degree in Design at the University of Texas, and also obtained minors in Biology, English, and Computer Science. Then I moved on to Texas A&M University, where I received an MS in Visualization Sciences. After graduation I was extremely honored to secure a job at Lucasfilm Animation working on Star Wars: The Clone Wars. I spent my time there as an ATD (Assistant Technical Director), handling lighting, rendering, and compositing of images for promotional merchandising for Clone Wars and the teased but never released Star Wars: Detours. I also learned some pipeline and tools scripting in MELscript and Python. That knowledge eventually landed me a job at Industrial Light and Magic (ILM), the VFX branch of Lucasfilm. Currently I’m an external ATD there, and I deal with sending and receiving data from 3rd-party studios–  which basically means I now do a LOT more pipeline and tools scripting! Life’s not all work though; I also enjoy playing guitar, Northern Shaolin kung fu, rock climbing, aerial silks, and acting.
